“Malta sports cannot be associated with Joseph Muscat,” Casola says the former Prime Minister was upset by the post.

Maltese sports cannot be associated with Joseph Muscat. Independent candidate Arnold Cassola said after reports that the former Prime Minister had been mobilized to lead the Malta Professional Football Club Association.

The news that Muscat is one of the alleged names that could become the chairman of MPFCA was first reported by Replay on NET Television, causing a split reaction from the football world.

MPFCA is made up of representatives from 12 Premier League clubs.

Among them is Arnold Cassola, an independent candidate. “Sports in Malta cannot be associated with a similar villain of Joseph Muscat,” he said in his statement.

“Joseph Muscat, the guardian of the criminal, the best friend of the suspected assassin, and the recipient of a wealth of gifts, has nothing to do with the sport of Malta. This is our country. Because it defiles the name of, something that not all honest Maltese deserve, “said Casola.

He hopes common sense will spread, otherwise he will address the issue with the UEFA and FIFA authorities.

Muscat, who resigned as prime minister after a major protest in November 2019, has long said he wants to be more involved in the sports sector.
