Man shot dead at GB Business – Eye Witness News

Freeport, Grand Bahama — A man was shot dead at his business establishment on Sargent Major Road in Grand Bahama just after 4pm today.

According to police, the victim approached the gunman and a struggle ensued.

After shooting the man several times, the gunman entered the store, retrieved several items, and fled eastward on foot.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Rand Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police said the matter is being actively investigated.

Meanwhile, in the capital, a man in his late 20s from central New Providence has been detained by police on suspicion of stabbing another man.

The incident reportedly occurred shortly before 9:00 am on August 3.

According to police, the victim was at a eatery on East Street when he saw the suspect harassing the eatery owner and advised him to contact police.

“There are further reports that as the victim attempted to leave the area, he was attacked and then stabbed multiple times by the suspect,” the crime report read.

“He was taken in his own car to the hospital where he was treated and discharged.”

Furthermore, “Police have arrested a man at his home to urge the public, especially young men, to find more peaceful ways to resolve conflicts. Violence is never the answer.”

Police are also actively searching for a man who allegedly robbed another man and woman in the Eastern District of New Providence.

The couple were seen outside their Haven Road residence in a light blue Nissan Note just after 10 p.m. I was there. His license plate was unknown.

According to police, the culprit took out a handgun, stole a mobile phone and a Nissan notebook, and fled the scene.

Northeast intelligence officers seized handguns and large amounts of ammunition on a separate incident on August 3.

Police said intelligence officers searched an abandoned building in Guanahani Circle and found the weapon shortly before 10 p.m.
