The proceedings of this high-profile, confidential case were initially held in Sabermaty Central Prison for security reasons, after which the proceedings were conducted primarily through video conferences. In early 2015, Hubli Karnataka’s Sessions Court acquitted Raziuddin Nasir and 16 of his associates in a criminal conspiracy case related to the Indian Students’ Islamic Movement (SIMI) case.
In January 2008, the Karnataka Police Detective Agency (CoD) arrested Nasir and other SIMIs for sabotage and terrorist activities. Karnataka police claimed that Nacil had organized a weapons training camp in the woodlands near Hubli with his fellow SIMI members.
He was acquitted because the prosecution failed to prove his charges against him.
