Thailand-based offshore service provider Mermaid Maritime has signed a two-year charter contract for the Van Gogh DP2 Diving Support Construction Vessel (“DSCV”).

The 111.58 meter long vessel built by China Merchant Heavy Industries and owned by Ultra Deep Solutions was handed over to Mermaid Subsea Services, a subsidiary of Mermaid Maritime.

The DSCV “Van Gogh” incorporates a saturated diving and air diving system, 120 beds and a 150 ton crane. Vessels are used for inspections, repairs and maintenance contracts, as well as saturated diving to support construction interventions and calls for ongoing on-site maintenance and repairs.

Mermaids also have two one-year extension options, which, if exercised, will extend the charter period until February 2026.

According to the company, the company’s Mermaid Subsea Services (Thailand) Ltd. Has already signed a submarine contract worth about $ 12 million and will use Van Gogh for about 120 days, which is scheduled to end in June 2022.

Meanwhile, Mermaid said she is actively bidding on more jobs in the Asia Pacific region.

In the medium term, Mermaid also aims to use Van Gogh for some future long-term projects in West Africa.
