Ministry of Health launches Middle East’s first e-platform for oncology

Saudi Gazette report

Riyadh — The Ministry of Health has announced the launch of the first electronic platform for oncology in the Middle East.

The Oncology e-Platform was launched at the headquarters of the Virtual Health Hospital in Riyadh with the aim of improving the quality of health services provided to oncology patients.

The ministry said the platform will be overseen by a group of Saudi doctors who specialize in several subspecialties.

They meet to discuss tumor cases presented by relevant health authorities.

The electronic platform enables the transfer of knowledge and the exchange of experience between experts in the field of oncology within and outside the Kingdom.

The ministry has confirmed that some of the doctors working on the platform have begun studying several cases of breast cancer in several parts of Saudi Arabia.

It is worth noting that the Ministry of Health launched an oncology e-platform on Wednesday in partnership with the Saudi Telecom Company (STC).
