Large-scale security arrangements are being implemented by central and state agencies, including five companies: SPG, bomb squad, NDRF team, and PAC.
Over 1000 Uttar Pradesh police officers are also stationed at the venue.
According to official sources, the Prime Minister will stay at the venue for 90 minutes to interact with 32 of the thousands of athletes attending the inauguration.
The College of Sports is named after the legendary hockey Major Diyanchand, who helped India win three Olympic gold medals in 1928, 1932 and 1936.
In 1956 he was awarded the Padma Bhushan Award. His birthday, August 29, is celebrated as National Sports Day.
The new sports stadium will be equipped with state-of-the-art sports infrastructure such as synthetic hockey grounds, soccer grounds, basketball, volleyball, handball and individual grounds for kabaddi.
This is in addition to lawn tennis courts, gymnasium halls, synthetic running stadiums, swimming pools, multipurpose halls and cycling stadiums.
