Monaco unites to support Ukraine: 1.5 million euros donated

Record 1.5 million euros raised by the Red Cross of Monaco

Welcome 110 refugees
Locally, the Red Cross of Monaco has welcomed refugees within a coordinating unit established at the request of Prince Albert II. The Red Cross of Monaco has helped 110 refugees settled in municipalities adjacent to the Principality with financial, food parcel and administrative assistance since the beginning of the war. French courses for adults are also available at the Monaco Red Cross Headquarters.
Supporting Ukraine through Cultural Events in Monaco
Cultural institutions throughout the Principality are working together to support Ukraine. Revenues from the following events will be donated to the Monaco Red Cross.
-Monte Carlo Spring Arts Festival to be held at the Chapel of von Vieille on March 31st. A concert by the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra will be held.
-On April 7th, Edouard Baer’s “Lesélu cubrations d’unhommesoudain frappé parlagrâce” will be performed at the Princess Grace Theater.
-The Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra at the Rainier III Auditorium on April 8. Concert by Maria João Pires conducted by Kazuki Yamada.
-The show “Oeilpour Oeil” premiered at Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo on April 28th at the Grimaldi Forum.
-Circus and dance show “Myland” to be held at Grimaldi Forum on June 10th
How the Monte Carlo Ballet Company was mobilized to Ukraine
Ballet de Monte Carlo has supported Ukraine in various ways. A personal statement by the choreographer Jean-Christoph Mayo of the Ballet de Monte Carlo was given to Vladimir Urin, director of the Bolshoi Theater Moscow, in a 2014 Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew ballet interpretation.
