More than 15,000 “illegal” residents arrested in a week

Riyadh: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) arrested 15,076 nationwide resident, labor and border security law violators between 16 December and 22 December. Saudi Press Agency (SPA) Reported on Saturday, December 25, 2021.

7,777 people were arrested, about 5,375 people who violated border security rules, and 1,924 people who violated labor law.

A total of 208 people were arrested when attempting to cross the border into the kingdom, of which 64% were Yemeni citizens, 28% were Ethiopians, 8% belonged to other nationalities, and 34 were arrested trying to flee the kingdom. it was done. Cross the border.

Security forces also arrested 27 people involved in transporting violators and providing shelter to them.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has warned that persons arrested for facilitating entry into the Kingdom in violation of border security rules or shelters will be sentenced to up to 15 years in prison.

Penalties include fines for up to 1 million Saudi riyals, confiscation of transportation, residence used as shelter, and publication of names in local media.
