Motion to Promise Government Not to Ratify ESM Reform OK

(ANSA) – ROME, 30 November – The House of Commons on Wednesday approved a majority motion pledging the government not to ratify reforms to the European Stability Mechanism.

The motion commits the government “not to endorse bills ratifying the ESM in light of the state of the art of other Member States’ ratifications and their relative impact on the evolution of the European regulatory framework.”

The motion was approved by a vote of 164 to 138.

Other notices of opposition were dismissed.
