Mural dedicated to Daphne Caruana Galizia unveiled at the University of Malta
A mural dedicated to the memory of Daphne Caruana Galizia was unveiled at the University of Malta on Monday evening.
Journalist Caruana Galizia was killed in a car bomb on Oct. 16, 2017, and the five years since her assassination were commemorated on Sunday. Two days ago, two men admitted to triggering her death while a trial was underway.
The mural, in which Daphne herself typed the words “I’d rather be hungry and free than well-fed and oppressed” in front of a typewriter, was unveiled by the university’s student council, KSU, just outside the university square. I got

KSU President Alex Gaglione and KSU Social Policy Officer Jeremy Mifsud opened the event, while Daphne’s niece Megan Mallia also spoke at the intimate event.
