Mysotakis honored by the Greek-American community

The Greek-American community paid tribute to Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and his wife Mareva Grabowski Mitsotakis at a luncheon at the Rove Boathouse in Central Park on Sept. 21.

Mitsotakis was in New York for the annual meeting of the United Nations General Assembly.

The meeting was co-hosted by AHEPA. American Hellenic Institute (AHI); Atlantic Bank; Federation of Cypriot American Organizations (FCAO); Federation of Greek American Associations of Philadelphia. Greek American Chamber of Commerce. Greek American Leadership Council (HALC); Greek Initiative (THI); Hellenic Bar Association of New York; Greek Medical Society of New York. PSEKA – International Coordination. Commission – Justice of Cyprus; Leadership 100; Order of St. Andrew – Archon of the Ecumenical Patriarch; and Washington Oxyday Foundation.

George Marcus, philanthropist and chairman of Marcus & Milichup, flew in from Palo Alto, Calif. to introduce the Greek prime minister. Archbishop Elpidophoros of the United States delivered opening remarks, prayers and blessings. He was moderated by Mike Manatos, Executive Director of the Washington Oxi Day Foundation.

Other honored guests in attendance included Cyprus Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasurides. David Harris, CEO of the American Jewish Commission, several ambassadors and other diplomats from Greece and Cyprus, and numerous members of the Greek-American community.
