Nepalese planes are missing due to bad weather and 22 planes are on board

A 43-year-old plane operated by a private airline in the mountainous region of Nepal went missing on Sunday (May 29), with 22 people on board.

Officials said the Taraea plane took off from the tourist destination of Pokhara, about 125 km (80 miles) west of the capital Kathmandu, to Jomsom, about 80 km northwest.

“Of the 19 passengers are 2 Germans, 4 Indians and 13 Nepalese. That’s all for now. Due to bad weather, helicopters sent for search I’m back. “

“The Taraea twin otter plane took off from Pokhara to Jomsom with 19 passengers at 9:55 am this morning, with three crew members. The aircraft was 15 minutes after takeoff. I couldn’t get in touch with him, “he added.

The National Meteorological Agency said there was thick cloud cover in the Pokhara-Jomsom area from the morning.

Nepal, with eight of the world’s 14 tallest mountains, including Everest, has records of aviation accidents. The weather can change suddenly, and runways are usually located in difficult-to-reach mountainous areas.
