Newly promoted Schalke sign Swedish international Larsson

BERLIN, Aug 5 (Xinhua) — Schalke have bolstered their offense with the acquisition of striker Jordan Larsson from Spartak Moscow, the Royal Blues confirmed on Friday.

After ending his contract with Spartak in June, the 25-year-old striker joined Schalke on a free transfer after penning a deal until June 2025.

“Jordan’s style of play suits us very well. He always wants one-on-one and can see off players with his speed and technique. I am confident that I will find my way in the future,” said Schalke manager Frank Kramer.

The new Schalke player played for Spartak from April 2019 to March 2022, making 83 appearances and scoring 27 goals and providing 9 assists. He joined Swedish outfit AIK Fotboll on loan in March 2022 before Spartak and Larsson agreed to terminate his contract by mutual consent.

“I am very pleased with the successful transfer. Schalke have made remarkable progress in the last few months and I am now looking forward to joining the team and contributing to their success in the season.” 7 is the club told the official website.
