Spanish yachtsman Garcia’s yacht moored in Kyrenia’s old port.entering the country without permission’ And then deported and disappeared, Yenidzen reported.

The yacht in question had been impounded due to communication problems between immigration and customs.

There are allegations that the yacht was stolen from Kyrenia port and brought to Paphos. The Coast Guard or Immigration Service has yet to issue an official statement regarding these allegations.

Yacht owner and hotelier Federico Garcia apparently headed for Kyrenia after spotting it on a chart while sailing in the Mediterranean. He mistakenly assumed that because he was an EU citizen, he could enter the port of Kyrenia without registering, leading Kyrenia to believe he was in the EU. Sentenced to 15 days in prison after appearing in court, Garcia was deported after serving his sentence.

The court said,The sailing yacht belonged to the defendant and should be returned to its rightful owner”.
