The ceremonies will take place on August 14, 15 and 16 in the liberated cities of Serdalur, Famagusta and Lefke in the second phase of the Turkish military intervention that began on July 20, 1974, Kiblis Postasi reported.
Victims of the genocide are commemorated in Tashkent, Murataa Sandalal and Atriral. A memorial service for the martyrs is held in Lefke.
Commemorative ceremonies at the Atrillal Martyrdom Monument, attended by President Ersin Tatar, will begin with the laying of wreaths at 10 am on Sunday. After a moment of silence, a salute, the singing of the national anthem and the hoisting of the flag, the ceremony concludes with a tour of the cemetery and a prayer at the grave.
