NRRP reforms need to be undertaken or overlooked-Draghi-English

(ANSA)-May 13 Rome-Prime Minister Mario Draghi said on Friday that the government must push forward with reforms promised to be implemented in exchange for EU funding for the National Recovery and Resilience Program (NRRP).

“The structure of the NRRP foresaw the allocation of funds bound by respect for deadlines to achieve accurate goals,” Draghi told the Verso Sud forum hosted by Minister of South Mara Carfagna.

“We must accelerate the reforms agreed with the European Union to ensure that we do not lose access to funds and overcome the vulnerabilities that have slowed growth in Italy and the South (especially).”

The EU has allocated nearly € 200 billion in grants and low interest loans to Italy as part of the Next Generation EU program, NRRP’s COVID-19 recovery program. (ANSA).
