Observatory says the drought on the Po river worsened in 70 years-English

(ANSA)-Rome, June 10-The current drought affecting Italy’s longest river, Po, is the worst in 70 years, the River Observatory told an extraordinary meeting on Friday.

According to the observatory, water demand in the Po Valley basin is high, but supply is due to little rain for several months at meetings attended by river authorities, civil protection agencies, affected areas and other stakeholders. It was “insufficient”.

To make matters worse, there are no signs that the crisis will ease, and rain shortages are projected to continue at above average temperatures. (ANSA).
