The replacement process for old appliances began in mid-June and was announced on Saturday by Minister of Energy and Environment Kostas Skrekas.
He told Skai TV that the measures to subsidize the withdrawal of old air conditioning systems, freezers and refrigerators have a budget of € 150 million and, with the contribution of beneficiaries, the program will be around € 300 million. ..
Subsidies range from 35% to 50% of new appliances and aim to replace up to 380,000. “The goal is to reduce energy prices by 30%,” says Skrekas.
