Pakistani Maru banning wedding meals

New Delhi: The Pakistani government is considering imposing coronavirus restrictions, especially on weddings, as the number of cases of Covid-19 has increased, GeoNews reported.

Talking to Geonews, Nausheen Hamid, the secretary of the Congress on Health, called the wedding a “super-spreader” for Covid cases.

“We are considering banning wedding meals altogether, as the virus is at its peak when people take off their masks and eat food,” Hamid said.

Hamid added that the issue will be discussed at a National Headquarters and Operations Center (NCOC) meeting scheduled for one or two days.

According to the report, NCOC will announce a clear policy that emphasizes venue limits, the number of wedding guests, and more.

Authorities have stated that the main focus of the government is to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), as PTI leaders shed light on other measures, so authorities are in all public places. I’m trying to make sure my vaccination certificate is checked.

“We will re-follow the previously applied strategy for smart lockdown,” she said, adding that lockdown is only imposed on the areas where it is needed.
