The Pelješac Bridge, which connects the southernmost tip of Croatia with the mainland, will open as scheduled later this month.

The 2.4-kilometer-long bridge and 20-kilometer access road will be open to the public on July 26.

“Everything is going well and everything is going according to plan. The heat is difficult for the workers currently working, but at present, the access road permit was issued on July 18th and July 26th. A bridge will open on a part of the access road every day. ” Croatian shipping And infrastructure Minister Oleg Butkovich said

The remaining 10 kilometers of access roads and stone bypass will be completed by the end of the year.

The € 550 million bridge was connected three months earlier than planned, three years after workers at China Road and Bridge Corporation began work.

Minister Butkovich said July 26th will be open to everyone who comes from the morning, crosses the bridge and can attend the event. The official formal opening ceremony itself takes place in the evening.

Last week, the first cruiser passed under the bridge. The following video is courtesy of Hrvatskeceste.
