Oil and gas company Neptune Energy has given oilfield service company Petrovak a two-year contract extension.

The contract extension, effective January 1, 2022, covers engineering services for the Cygnus Alpha and Bravo platforms operated by Neptune in the North and South Seas of the United Kingdom.

Petrofac provides Cygnus Field with a variety of brownfield engineering, procurement, construction and test run services. The contract follows Petrovak’s separate three-year contract extension earlier this year for operational and maintenance support in the United Kingdom.

Earlier this year, Petrovak celebrated its 10th anniversary of supporting Cygnus Field and began working on the pre-operational phase of Cygnus in 2011.

Alexandra Thomas, UK Managing Director of Neptune Energy, said:

“The in-depth knowledge of the offshore team supports the safe and optimal operation of the facility, reducing the time and costs associated with planning engineering activities. Signus is a key component of the UK North Sea energy infrastructure. This is very important given that it can produce 6% of the UK’s domestic gas demand. “

Nick Shorten, Chief Operating Officer of Petrofac, said: Reduce operational impact and minimize downtime so that Neptune can continue to meet critical energy demands.

“We are pleased to have the opportunity to build on this approach and further strengthen our long-term partnership with Neptune Energy.”
