Police demand a travel ban for Marseille fans prior to the PAOK clash
Greek police filed an official request on Monday for a complete ban on Olympique de Marseille fans prior to their rematch with PAOK in Thessaloniki on Thursday for the Europa Conference League. To this end, Minister of Civil Protection Takis Theodorikakos also discussed with UEFA General Secretary Theodore Theodoridis and Deputy General Secretary Giorgio Marchetti.
In the first match of the two teams last week, violence spread both around the Velodrome Stadium and in the wider port city, dramatically increasing the risk of anxiety about this rematch.
Fans of Marseille have faced travel bans in other international matches in the past.
