Police seize € 772 million for building incentive fraud-English

(ANSA)-Rome, June 28-Tuesday, financial police allegedly stemmed from a huge circle of fraudulent claims against state incentives for construction work to make buildings more environmentally friendly7 Seized more than 772 million euros.

Prosecutors said 143 individuals and groups were being investigated in Napes and Caserta in connection with the case.

Among the beneficiaries of the credit was a man who claimed to have processed 30 million euros of construction work despite being in jail.

Many of the suspects were allegedly associated with the Mafia clan, with about 70% claiming or applying for “citizenship wages” benefits for the poor. (ANSA).
