Portuguese Navy Day celebrated at Faro

Faro was chosen to host this year’s celebration Portuguese Navy Day (May 20th).

Two years after the online celebration for the pandemic, the Portuguese Navy brings an annual celebration to the capital of Algarvia. Boat tours and sea baptisms to exhibitions, concerts, military activity showcases until May 22..

Faro’s Forum Algarve Shopping center hosting the Portuguese Navy Exhibition until May 22, A series of demonstrations by Marines and other naval officers. The Portuguese Navy band will also perform at the shopping center.

Naval ship Will be Open to visit From the public in between May 19th and 22nd At Faro’s commercial dock, from 10 am to noon and from 2 pm to 6 pm, sea baptisms take place on the same day, with timetables for Cais das Portas do Mar and Cais do Ladrão.

Navy also wears Exhibition at the Faro Museum From May 19th to 22nd.

Portuguese Navy Day, May 20, 1998, in honor of his fleet’s historic voyage to India via the Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama and the Cape of Good Hope (1497–1499). It will be celebrated.

Navy Day is celebrated annually in the coastal towns of Portugal with the aim of “strengthening relations between the Portuguese population and its navy.”
