Prince Harry makes money by trashing the royals in book, Netflix show and Oprah chat – three strikes and you're out, ex-friend furious
A former friend has slammed Prince Harry for making money by disparaging the royal family in his book, Netflix documentary and Oprah interview.
The Duke of Sussex, 39, sparked a bitter feud with the royal family after stepping down as senior royal officials and relations have only become strained since.
The father-of-two relocated to California with his wife Meghan Markle in 2020, just two years after their fairytale wedding at St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle.
Their scathing comments directed at the royal family are said to have “deeply upset” the late Queen Elizabeth and left King Charles and Prince William “infuriated.”
Harry and Meghan could have left with dignity and decency and without degrading the institution. Bottom line, they made money by degrading his family.

But further heartbreak came in 2021 when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's infamous Oprah Winfrey interview was broadcast to millions of viewers.
They accused certain members of the royal family of making assumptions about Prince Archie's skin color.
Then, Harry and Meghan's former friend Omid Scobie published a libelous book, “Endgame,” which claimed the royal family members were Princess Kate and King Charles.
During her interview with Oprah, the duchess also made serious allegations about the company and how it dealt with her mental health issues.
The royal family was left reeling and the botched Netflix documentary series “Harry & Meghan” exposed further attacks on the couple.
Then, in 2023, the Duke's explosive memoir, Spare, appeared to have severed the last remaining ties.
He accused Wills of physically attacking him, including throwing him to the floor, over rude comments he made about Meghan.
The estranged brothers are not thought to have spoken to each other since the Queen's funeral two years ago.
Prince William has also reportedly said he doesn't want Prince Harry to attend his coronation.
Now, amid reports that Prince Harry feels “angry” and “desperate” to receive the same praise that Prince William and Princess Kate receive, a former friend has hit back.
“Three strikes and you're out,” they told the Times.
After Spare was released, many of the Duke's peers vowed never to forgive the sordid allegations.
“I can't believe he's fallen this far. This is huge dishonesty. Oprah, Netflix and a book? You're out on three strikes,” the source fumed.
Meanwhile, a longtime mutual friend of Harry and William added: “Harry and Meghan could have left the royal family with dignity and decency and without disparaging the institution. Bottom line is they made money off of disparaging Harry's family.”
Harry also spoke candidly during the Netflix documentary series, confessing, “I miss my friends. I've lost some friends along the way.”
It comes after a friend who still receives “weird WhatsApp” messages from the former prince claimed he “misses being in the UK”.
According to a report in The Times, an old friend of the former royal family argued that he would be better off in Britain, where he is “loved by everyone” like Prince William and Princess Kate.
“He's an angry boy and things don't go the way he wants,” the source claimed.
“I think he's going to miss being here. [in Britain] They desperately want more praise.
“Anyone who knows him feels that, like Prince William and Princess Kate, he is here to be loved and wants to come out on top.”
Prince Harry and Prince William were last seen together at King Charles' coronation in May last year, but they were seated separately and Prince Harry made a hurried escape.
Meanwhile, when the Duke visited the UK in May to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, he did not meet his brother or father.

Friends say Prince William doesn't want Prince Harry to attend the coronation because the brothers haven't spoken to each other for two years.
As they grew older, the now estranged siblings began to associate with many of the same friends as their close-knit peers.
However, even today, the two brothers are locked in a bitter, long-running feud that shows no signs of ending.
Friends of Prince William have been told the prince wants “it to look and feel different” when it comes to his coronation.
And Prince William is not likely to need it, as he is thought not to have spoken to Prince Harry since the Queen's funeral nearly two years ago.
When Prince Charles announced his cancer diagnosis in March (Prince William did not break the news to his brother beforehand), a source close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said that they reached out privately to William and Kate Middleton but did not hear back.
For now, Prince Charles doesn't seem to have any plans to reconcile with Harry.
A friend of Prince William's told The Sunday Times: “This year he's been very focused on his wife, his children and being a father.
“His brother is not something that is discussed much.”
One of the brothers' closest friends added: “They are estranged and it's terribly sad.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down as senior royals in 2020 and now live in California with their children Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibeth, three.
Friends close to Prince William and Kate say a repair relationship with Prince Harry is “off the table” as they prioritise the princess's health, children and royal duties.
Neither country appears to have any plans to repair ties that were once so close.
Royal experts have argued that Prince Harry and Meghan's use of footage from their recent interview with Oprah Winfrey on CBS Sunday Morning talk show “The Parents Network” shows they have no intention of ending their marital rift.
The Duke also gave several interviews while promoting his latest farm denunciation project, which only fuelled bad feelings.
“I want my dad back, I want my brother back,” he told ITV presenter Tom Bradby while promoting Spare, but “they've shown no willingness to reconcile.”
Meanwhile, in a separate interview with CBS, the Duke said he viewed Camilla as a villain who “left bodies in the street to boost her own reputation.”
These harsh comments reportedly “crossed a line” for King Charles.
In a separate ITV interview last month, Prince Harry again attacked his family, claiming that a lack of support from them in their battle over Britain's security was “at the heart” of their feud.
A royal expert told The Sun's Royal Exclusive that Prince Harry's openness and willingness to speak to the press is what once made fans adore him, but now dislike it.
This comes as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex wrap up their “pseudo-royal” tour of Colombia after a weekend of official engagements.
On the fourth day of their trip, the pair shared a passionate kiss while enjoying an intimate salsa session.
They visited the capital, Bogotá, Cartagena de Indias on the Caribbean coast, and the undisputed salsa capital, Cali.
The enthralled couple even joined the student dancers on the floor and performed a sizzling salsa dance.
The pair were seen engaging in public displays of affection, with the Duchess grabbing her husband's face before the pair shared a passionate kiss.
A timeline of Prince Harry and Prince William's 'feud': Brothers 'at war'
In 2018, The Sun reported that “simmering tensions” began when Prince William questioned the speed of Harry and Meghan's engagement.
The first signs of friction reportedly came after Prince William was introduced to Meghan, who was staying with them at Kensington Palace.
When she returned to Canada, Prince William and Prince Harry sat down for a brotherly chat.
She was aware that Harry was already infatuated with her, but is said to have advised him to take it slowly.
The young prince reportedly didn't take the advice too kindly, with one royal source saying he “fell mad.”
Then in June 2019, Prince Harry and Meghan officially left the charity they co-ran with Prince William and Kate.
The Royal Foundation will be split between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, allowing them to each focus on their own charitable endeavors.
Princes William and Harry first launched the Royal Foundation in 2009, with Kate joining shortly after their engagement was announced two years later.
The three often appear at events together and the foundation has had great success with projects such as the Invictus Games for injured veterans and the Heads Together mental health campaign.
The Royal Foundation said the decision was made following the conclusion of a review into the foundation's structure, but added that the couple would continue to work together.
Prince Harry and Meg lived close to Kate and Prince William on the grounds of Kensington Palace, but moved to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor before baby Archie was born.
The move further fuelled rumors of discord.
Prince Harry, 39, also hinted at a deterioration in his relationship with his brother during the ITV documentary “Harry and Meghan's Journey to Africa.”
This comes after Prince Philip called Meghan “DOW”, after the American divorcee Duchess of Windsor whose marriage led to King Edward VIII's abdication.
And royal authors claim Prince Harry warned the late Queen to be “cautious” with Harry's then-bride-to-be.
Ingrid Seward revealed in her new book, My Mother And I, that Prince Philip felt that “strangely, Meghan reminded him of the Duchess of Windsor.”
In 2021, Harry and Meghan gave an explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey in which Harry accused his father of severing ties with him financially.
Prince Harry then returned to the UK, where he and Prince William attended the unveiling of a statue of his mother, Princess Diana, in the grounds of Kensington Palace.
However, sources claim that Prince William does not want to attend the memorial due to ongoing rifts between him and the couple.
Shortly before the death of their grandmother, the Queen, in 2022, sources claimed Kate was acting as a “mediator” between the siblings.
Last year, Prince Harry claimed his brother “threw him to the floor” during an argument over Meghan.
In his book “Spare,” Prince Harry said that during the argument, Prince William called Meghan “rude” and “difficult.”
Prince Harry claimed that Prince William “grabbed me by the collar, ripped off my necklace and… threw me to the floor.”
He said he was left with visible scars on his back after the altercation in 2019 at Nottingham Cottage, in the grounds of Kensington Palace, where he was living at the time.
Prince Harry flew to be with Prince Charles after the latter's shocking cancer diagnosis in January this year.
Harry returned to the US the next day without meeting Williams.
