Private sector importing jet fuel

Colombo (News First); Sri Lanka has decided to allow the private sector to import jet fuel.
This decision was made after a meeting between Minister Nimal Siripara de Silva, airline representatives, and domestic fuel storage operators.
So far, only the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has been allowed to import jet fuel into Sri Lanka.
The US dollar crisis has made it nearly impossible to import jet fuel into the country.
If the law was amended to allow the private sector to import Jetflue into the country, the fuel storage operator notified the minister of maximum support.
Sri Lankan aviation authorities have been instructed to support this measure.
