Professor HBKU co-chairing a workshop on carbonate reserves management

The founding faculty member of Hamadbin Harifa University (HBKU) will hold the 4th European Association of Earth Scientists and Engineers (EAGE) well injection / productivity and reservoir management in Doha from March 21st to 23rd. (WIPIC) Co-chairs the workshop. ..
Dr. Ahmad Sami Abushaikha, founding faculty member of HBKU and currently an associate professor of Sustainable Development at HBKU’s Faculty of Science and Engineering, co-chairs the event with Dr. Herbert Lescanne of TotalEnergies.
Following the success of the workshop in Doha in November 2019, the management of carbonate reserves around the world will be in the limelight.
Representatives from national and international oil companies, service providers, universities and research institutes will be present. Target topics include water attack, gas inundation, alternating gas, use of data analysis and machine learning to optimize oil and gas field development and reservoir management, well injection, and productivity. Predicted to include stimulation, sustainability and its impact role, reservoir simulation, blue hydrogen and artificial intelligence.
Dr. Abushaikha said: “This workshop is a great opportunity to share expertise and knowledge and promote new collaborations. WIPIC is a great place to learn from professionals, engineers and scholars. The oil and gas industry is coveted. It’s time for investment and collaboration to be essential. We believe that an interdisciplinary approach is the next step towards better reservoir management for carbonate reservoirs, and this is the workshop. It’s all about. “
Following feedback and success from previous events, the scope of the workshop has been expanded to cover the entire reservoir, not just the wells.
This workshop includes well stimulation and completion, log analysis, rock physics, pressure transient analysis, reservoir geology and geophysics, applied mathematics, data science, geostatistics, reservoir engineering, and underground generalists. Appeal to underground experts in reservoir managers.
Submissions have already been invited on various interdisciplinary topics across the scope of reservoir management. The early registration deadline for the event is January 15th, and the regular registration deadline is February 15th.
EAGE is a non-profit organization that is a global expert for geoscientists and engineers with approximately 19,000 members worldwide. It provides all members with a global network of commercial and academic professionals.
