Public parking in Dubai remains free on Fridays “until further notice”.

Public parking in Dubai remains free only on Fridays and public holidays so far, and the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has confirmed that tolls apply on Saturdays and Sundays.

In a statement, RTA said the existing system would remain “until further notice”.

The RTA also announced that it will move to a new week from January 3, 2022, in line with the UAE Government Directive.

RTA headquarters work hours from Monday to Friday, and weekends are Saturday and Sunday. Working hours are from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. However, working hours on Fridays are from 7:30 am to 12:00 pm (noon).

The Service Center (including the Technical Testing Center) monitors the full working week from Sunday to Thursday, as is currently applied, with Saturday as a public holiday. However, these centers on Friday will be open from 4 pm to 9 pm.

RTA’s Customer Happiness Center operates Monday through Thursday from 8 am to 7:30 pm and Friday from 8 am to 12 pm. Saturdays and Sundays are weekly holidays.

Authorities also said that from February 2, the new closure time for the floating bridge will be from 10 pm Saturday to 6 am Monday, “enough time for maritime activities, tourist vessels and bridge maintenance work. I confirmed that.

Metro, tram, bus

The Dubai Metro red and green lines run from Monday to Thursday from 5 am to 1:15 am (next day). It runs from 5 am to 2:15 am (next day) on Fridays and Saturdays, and from 8 am to 1:15 am (next day) on Sundays.

Dubai Tram operates from 6:00 am to 1:00 am (next day) from Monday to Saturday. Sunday trams run from 9am to 1am (next day).

According to the RTA, Dubai buses operate from Monday to Thursday, and on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays “according to the applicable bus schedule system, tailored to the demands of the service”.
