Qatar sets health insurance premiums for immigrants – Doha News

Visitors to Qatar can now purchase entry visa health insurance for 50 riyals per month.

Qatari authorities have set health insurance premiums for tourists entering Qatar on visas, according to the Official Gazette No. 10, published on Sunday.

As of October 2nd, visitors are required to pay 50 QAR per month for health insurance. This follows previous instructions by the Minister of Health, which sets visitor health insurance premiums.

This will allow all fans to get medical care if needed during their stay in the highly anticipated FIFA World Cup Qatar, which is expected to bring over one million visitors to the Gulf States.

Previously, travelers could visit the Gulf countries without medical insurance. However, in the event of an emergency, the person had to pay the expenses out of their own pocket.

Currently, compulsory insurance entitles entrants to all medical services (if needed) at a total cost of just 50QAR. This will ensure the safety of everyone in the country while allowing the health system to provide services without facing an extra financial burden.

If your visa is extended for any reason, your premium will not change. This means that visitors do not have to pay any additional fees during their stay.

“All competent authorities within their respective jurisdictions shall implement this decision, which shall take effect from the day after its publication in the Official Gazette,” states Article 2.
