Queen Elizabeth II, 95, in the United Kingdom, tested positive for Covid-19 on Sunday, but her symptoms are “mild” and she intends to continue her light mission at Windsor Castle’s residence.
The news came after Prince Charles, the Queen’s eldest son and heir, tested positive on February 10, two days after meeting her mother in Windsor.
At that time, no information was given as to whether Queen Elizabeth had taken the exam herself. She resumed her audience directly at the castle last week, but she complained that she was suffering from stiffness in one attendee.
“Buckingham Palace confirms that the Queen has tested positive for Covid today,” said a statement from the palace.
“Her Majesty is experiencing mild cold-like symptoms, but I look forward to continuing her mild mission at Windsor next week,” he said.
“She will continue to see her doctor and follow all appropriate guidelines.”
Normally, the Queen’s health is kept secret, but the palace has previously confirmed that she has been completely vaccinated against Covid-19.
