Raytheon Technologies’ business, Raytheon Missiles & Defense, has won a $ 624 million US Army contract to manufacture 1,300 Stinger® missiles. In addition to engineering support, the contract includes provisions for test equipment and support needed to address decommissioning, modernize key components, and accelerate production.

“”We are working with the US military on plans to replenish the Stinger provided to Ukraine, accelerate production, and ensure that the current Foreign Military Sales orders are fulfilled. “ Wes Kremer, president of Raytheon Missiles & Defense, said. “This money will be used to increase Stinger’s productivity to meet the urgent need for replenishment.”

Combat-proven Stinger missiles are lightweight, self-contained air defense systems that can be quickly deployed by ground forces. Its supersonic speed, agility, and highly accurate guidance and control system give the weapon an operational advantage over cruise missiles and aircraft of all classes.

The contract is funded by the Ukrainian Supplement, which includes emergency funding to support the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Raytheon Missiles & Defense continues to work closely with the US Army and its supplier partners to quickly support the growing demand for stinger.
