Rescuers fight wildfires in northern Spain

Firefighters from the Spanish Emergency Military Unit (UME) fought a wildfire in northern Navarre on Sunday (June 19), and residents were evacuated from the nearby town of Artazu.

Dry and windy conditions have caused wildfires in some parts of the northern part of the country.

More than 25,000 hectares of land were burned in the Sierra de la Crebra Mountains in Samora, and thousands more hectares were burned in Catalonia and Navarra.

In Spain, temperatures dropped sharply on Sunday, and humidity in areas where paramedics were working to extinguish the flames rose.
