Rs.3.4 billion Indian aid reaches Sri Lanka

Colombo (News First); High Commissioner Gopal Bagley handed over valuable humanitarian supplies around Rupee, Sri Lanka. On July 26, 2022, Indians donated $ 3.4 billion to Foreign Minister Ali Sabry PC and Colombo Health and Water Supply Minister Keheliya Rambukwella.

Parliamentarian Jeevan Thondaman and Ceylon Workers’ Conference leader Sentill Tondaman attended the event.

The Tamil Nadu Government has donated a large humanitarian consignment consisting of 16,594 tonnes of rice, 200 tonnes of milk powder and about 38 tonnes of medicine.

This is the third commission from the Tamil Nadu Government to donate a total of 40,000 tonnes of rice, 500 tonnes of milk powder and over 100 tonnes of medicine. The total value of these medicines is over US $ 22 million. Important medicines such as 25,000 doses of rabies vaccine formed part of these supplies.

These supplies have been distributed to beneficiaries by the Sri Lankan government, and humanitarian supplies delivered on July 26, 2022 are expected to reach beneficiaries in various parts of Sri Lanka within a few days.

The Indian people have complemented the Government of India’s efforts to meet the diverse needs of the Sri Lankan people. To this end, the Government of India’s overwhelming and multifaceted support of over US $ 3.8 billion for the people of Sri Lanka has generously donated to various hospitals, Indian community organizations in Sri Lanka, and Sri Lankan brothers. ..
