Russia declares a state of emergency in the Rostov region over Ukrainian refugees

The Russian region, which borders Ukraine, has declared a state of emergency because of the increasing number of people arriving from areas owned by Ukrainian separatists after receiving evacuation orders.

“Given the trend toward more people arriving, I think it’s appropriate to introduce a state of emergency,” Rostov Oblast Governor Vasily Gorbev said at a meeting on Saturday, according to a Russian news agency. Stated.

Cross-border orders

Earlier on Friday, leaders of two pro-Russian separatist republics in eastern Ukraine accused Ukrainian troops of preparing to forcibly recapture the region and forced civilians to cross the border into Russia. I ordered.
