The Russian Foreign Ministry said late Monday that Russia had declared that it would not welcome eight Greek diplomats and gave them eight days to leave the country.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said it had summoned a Greek ambassador to protest “the confrontational course of the Greek authorities against Russia, including the supply of weapons and military equipment to the Kieu administration.”
The ministry also said it protested Greece’s decision to declare a group of Russian diplomats “persona non grata.”
The Greek Foreign Ministry said on Monday that it regrets Moscow’s decision. “There is no basis for the Russian authorities’ decision to expel the staff of the Greek Foreign Consulate in Russia,” he said in a news release.
Greece Is a member of NATO and the European Union and has joined EU sanctions against Russia over its actions in Ukraine.
