San Jose police make arrests in gang-related shooting
SAN JOSE – Authorities announced arrests Monday in a gang-related shooting that occurred in San Jose this summer.
The incident happened around 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 10 in a parking lot in the 3000 block of Center Road, San Jose police spokeswoman Stacey See said in a news release.
The victim was with friends when the suspect pulled into a parking lot and got out. He asked the victim about his gang affiliation, brandished a gun and threatened to kill him, according to Shi.
“The suspect then fired a gun into the air and fled the scene,” See said.
The suspect was later identified as a 33-year-old San Jose man and a “known and active gang member,” Shi said. Arrest and search warrants have been issued for the suspect.
Detectives arrested the suspect in San Jose on September 5. He was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on charges including gang assault with a deadly weapon and brandishing a firearm.
