Saudi Arabia arrests 14,509 illegal immigrants in one week

RIYADH — About 14,509 violators of residence and labor laws and border security regulations were arrested in different parts of the Kingdom within a week.

According to the Ministry of Interior, the arrests took place during a week of joint field fighting conducted by various units of the security forces across the kingdom from July 28 to August 3.

Those arrested included 8,581 violators of the residency system, 4,337 violators of border control rules, and 1,591 violators of labor laws.

Another 420 people were arrested trying to cross the border into Saudi Arabia, 43% were Yemenis, 48% Ethiopians, 9% of other nationalities, and 22 offenders crossed the border and left Saudi Arabia. was arrested for trying

Currently, 51,658 males and 3,081 females, a total of 54,739 violators, are undergoing procedures for rule violations.

Of these, 42,592 offenders were referred to diplomatic missions to obtain travel documents, 3,509 offenders were referred to complete travel bookings, and 11,337 offenders were deported.
