MAKKAH: The urban design code for the Riyadh Sports Boulevard project on Prince Mohammed bin Salmanbin Abdul Aziz Road has been revealed.

The Board of Directors of the Sports Boulevard Foundation, chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, announced the launch after a previous decision to create a unified design code for the project.

The 135-kilometer boulevard, with an estimated area of ​​more than 2.3 million square meters, aims to promote the physical, psychological and social health of residents and visitors. This includes green space covering an estimated 4.4 million square meters.

Al-Marshad said the project will also provide a variety of housing developments to promote and stimulate development while complying with energy sustainability standards.

He added: “This code seeks to achieve many positive aspects that are important to residents and communities, such as improving the quality of architecture and urban design to enhance the attractiveness and economic efficiency of cities, and the investment environment. Stimulate the housing sector by offering new and diverse housing patterns.

“It establishes additional pedestrian roads in residential areas, achieves sustainability and stimulates development according to energy-saving standards.”
