The required corona test at schools in Berlin will be extended to Pentecost. However, starting next Monday, students and teachers will only need to test themselves twice a week instead of three times a week.
This decision was announced by Berlin Mayor Franziska Giffy (SPD) at the Senate meeting on Tuesday (May 3, 2022). According to Giffey, the number of positives was well below 1% in the approximately 2 million Covid tests distributed to Berlin students and teachers last week.
Test twice a week from May 9th
After consultation between the Health Advisory Board and the State Parents’ Committee, it became clear that parents wanted to continue corona testing at school. Therefore, it was agreed to run the test twice a week starting next Monday (May 9, 2022).
