SDAIA and Google Cloud Launch ‘Elevate’ to Empower 25,000 Women with AI

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Data and Artificial Intelligence Agency (SDAIA) and Google Cloud have announced a new collaboration aimed at enabling women around the world to pursue careers in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). did.

The Elevate initiative, announced at the Global AI Summit, will focus on empowering women in emerging markets by training more than 25,000 women over the next five years.

This program offers a four-month curriculum developed jointly with Google Cloud. Attendees will have access to free training sessions designed to train the skills and experience needed for roles such as cloud architect, data engineer, machine learning engineer, and cloud business. Expert.

The program also provides mentorship from industry experts from Google Cloud and SDAIA. Undergraduates and graduates with STEM backgrounds have the opportunity to apply for the program.

While the global AI industry is growing rapidly, women are still underrepresented. Women now make up 12% of the world’s AI researchers and 8% of professional software developers, according to a UNESCO study. The survey also revealed that only one-fifth of the employees in tech positions at her leading ML companies are women.
