(BCN) — Whereas State Freeway 1 stays closed after rock slides attributable to this winter’s heavy rains, crews have repaired a sinkhole on the freeway a number of miles south of the continuing closure.
Caltrans officers stated the sinkhole appeared Sunday one mile south of Nacimiento-Fergusson Street. In response, Caltrans moved the southern finish of the closure 5 miles south to Pacific Valley.
This stretch of the freeway closed by repairs on the sinkhole will reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday, when the closure will return to the stretch from two miles north of Plaskett about miles to the north to Lucia.
Caltrans didn’t present an estimate on its web site when the freeway will totally reopen.
