Southern California 'shamanistic guru' arrested on child sex abuse charges

Authorities announced Wednesday that they had arrested a 60-year-old Riverside County man they described as a “religious leader in a shamanic community” after several people accused him of sexual assault.

According to a new release from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, multiple victims came to the Moreno Valley Sheriff's Station on Aug. 1 to report they were sexually assaulted by Ricardo Flores at a residence in the 26000 block of Sandy Lane.

RCSD detectives said during their investigation, they discovered the assaults occurred at multiple locations in Riverside County.

The 60-year-old Rialto man was arrested at the U.S. border while attempting to return to the U.S. from Mexico on Aug. 7.

“Flores was transported to Riverside County and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on suspicion of sexual assault and child molestation,” the release said.
