Statistics lawyer says Zeman’s sabotage claims are baseless

The Supreme Prosecutor in Prague said claims that President Milos Zeman was the victim of sabotage while in hospital last year were unfounded. In a complaint filed in June, the head of state said attempts had been made to remove his powers.

Zeman was hospitalized last October, the day after the general election. Medical reports at the time said he was unable to carry out his duties as president and that his prognosis was highly uncertain.

Some legislators have raised the possibility of invoking Article 66 of the Czech Constitution to temporarily deprive Zeman of his powers.
