Sziget Festival featuring Russian and Ukrainian performers

The Sziget Festival “doesn’t believe in cultural embargoes,” said Tamás Kádár, the main organizer of the week-long music festival on Hajogali Island in Budapest. Said On Friday, he added that this year’s event will feature both Russian and Ukrainian performers.

The festival, scheduled for August 10-15, will feature concerts by Dua Lipa, Justin Bieber, Arctic Monkeys, Tame Impala, DJ Calvin Harris and Kings of Leon.

Visitors can meet artists from 52 countries and the event will feature approximately 1,000 programs in total.

According to the organizers, Shiget continues to work on environmental protection, and its future is secured by a more than five-year agreement with the Budapest City Council.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the festival was canceled in 2020 and 2021.
