event to be held From September 14th to October 16thcelebrates the tradition of eating “petisco” which gives you the chance to try several different dishes for the price of a regular size dish.

The Rota do Petisco is growing year by year, initially held only in Portimao, but expanding to most municipalities of the Algarve.

This year the event will be held 11 districts: Aljezur, Vila do Bispo, Lagos, Portimao, Monchique, Lagoa, Silves, Albufeira, Lore, San Blas de Alporter, Tavira.

Each facility is “Petisco” (good food) or “Doce Regional” (local confectionery), There are also vegetarian options to attract even more visitors.Cost of savory dishes €3.50 While it takes sweets €2.50 (Each option includes a drink).

Within the event there are three themed routes. ‘Rota dos Chefes’ Featuring signature dishes from top chefs using locally sourced ingredients. ‘Rota do Mundo’ (World Route) You’ll see restaurants serving international cuisine from Spain, Italy, India, China, Turkey, Chile, Brazil, Venezuela, Mexico, Holland, and Japan.There is also a new work ‘Rota da Memória’ (Memory Route)challenges restaurants and eateries to recreate traditional dishes from the past.

All proceeds will be donated to six local institutions and projects that combat social, racial, or gender discrimination, promote youth mental health, and volunteerism.
