MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Western powers are deliberately creating a mood against Iran, saying Tehran is allegedly preparing an attack on Saudi Arabia, said Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani. said Wednesday.
On Tuesday, US media fueled narratives that Saudi Arabia had shared information with the US about an “imminent attack” from Iran on targets within its territory.
“This kind of biased news is produced by some Western and Israeli circles to stir up the atmosphere around Iran and subvert the current positive trend in relations with countries in the region,” it said. Kanani said in a statement posted on Telegram.
He emphasized that Tehran is considering establishing and strengthening stability and security in the Middle East region based on constructive interaction with neighboring countries.
Iran has also accused the US and Israel of fueling unrest in the country that began in mid-September after 22-year-old Martha Amini fell into a coma and died in hospital days later. Iran’s morality police allegedly wore her headscarf inappropriately.
Mainstream media claimed the woman was beaten by police and left in a coma, but CCTV footage released by authorities appeared to show that she was not abused during her custody.
