Telangana records 5 new Omicron cases, aggregates rise to 84

Hyderabad: Telangana reported five new cases of Omicron on Sunday, boosting the state’s aggregate to 84.

All new cases were detected among air passengers from countries other than “endangered” countries.

According to the Director of Public Health, five Omicron cases recovered on Sunday, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 33.

The Ministry of Health was also waiting for a genome sequence report of 30 samples.

According to officials, 163 passengers from “endangered” countries arrived at Begumpet Airport on Sunday, 14 of whom tested positive for Covid.

Since December 1, a total of 12,855 passengers have arrived here from “endangered” countries.

Meanwhile, the state reported 274 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours until 5:30 pm on Sunday.

According to the Ministry of Health, 227 cases have recovered from Covid, bringing the total to 6,74,680 cases. Currently, the recovery rate is 98.85%.
