All Omicron-positive cases isolated at the Telangana Institute of Medical Science (TIMS) are asymptomatic and safe, he said, citing the TIMS director.

He also revealed that 20 samples infected with Omicron were sent for retesting after completing an 8-day period and 13 were negative. He said those that tested positive would be retested a week later.

Emphasizing the importance of vaccination, 46 of the 62 people who were found to be positive for Omicron said they had not been vaccinated. Only 14 were fully vaccinated and 2 were partially vaccinated.
