Temperatures drop by 1 degree per hour from October amid energy crisis – Japanese

(ANSA) – ROME, 1 Sept – Italians will be asked to turn their central heating down one degree from October and turn it off for at least an hour every day to deal with the energy crisis, ecological transitions minister says Roberto Cingolani said Thursday.

Cingolani is well off his energy savings plan and ruled out going back to distance learning to save energy.

Italy is facing a huge energy shortage amid surges in electricity prices due to the Ukraine war and Russia’s “gas blackmail”.
