The largest tourism and cultural event in central Croatia ended at the 26th time.
Croatian President Zoran Milanovic visited the traditional Teresiana, which ended in the city of Buyeroval last weekend.
Bjelovar’s Terezijana is an event based on the legend of the founding of the city and the stay of Empress Maria Theresia in the area.
When she ruled the kingdom, Empress Maria Theresia visited the border guards who defended the monarchy from the conquest of the Ottoman Empire.
During her trip, she witnessed a unit defending the area known today as Bellobal. She was impressed by the local soldiers and built a new city there as a sign of her gratitude. That is the birth of Bellobal.
From June 15th to 19th, 2022, the customs and traditions of Buyerobal were exhibited at Teresiana. There are also legendary theatrical scenes about the defense of the village of Bilogola from the Ottoman conquerors, rich music and cultural programs, agricultural trade fairs, and local gastronomy through the Okusi Bilogore (Flavours of Bilogora) program.
